So, it's been a while...
They say that silence is golden (and duct tape is silver), but I know most of you would rather I had more to say. The truth is, for you guys silence may really be golden. When I get so busy that I don't even think about posting to this blog, when I forget about B.J. Craft and his story, it's usually good news for you. I'm hoping the same holds true this time.
As you can see from the image above, I've been busy in the background. I know that's probably not much of an excuse, but I hope it makes up for not hearing from me. Of course, you're welcome to ping me on my Facebook author page if you're curious what's going on in background. I'm normally happy to share - when I can - about what I haven't announced to the general public (assuming you can keep a secret.)
The Guns of Underhill: Fey West
I'm really excited to announce that Fey West is basically done and will be going up for pre-order in the next few weeks. All the great people over at Bell Bridge Books are busy doing their thing now that they don't have to wait on me for anything. The official release date should be September 4th, though there exists the probability that DragonCon attendees may be able to get the book before that.
Dumpstermancer: Discarded
If you thought I was excited about Fey West, you can only imagine how much more excited I am about Discarded. Why? Because it's almost HERE!
My first foray into Urban Fantasy is on it's final proof read, going out to my launch team this weekend. The current release date for book one of the DUmpstermancer series is JUNE 26th...only a few weeks from now. Just as exciting, I'm about half way through with the second book in the series: Duplicity
Bittergate Update
Several of you have asked about Bittergate 3: Forge of War. The truth is, the characters stopped talking to me part way through the first draft.
As a discovery writer, I rely on the cooperation of my characters to do my best writing. It's true I can bully them along, but I've found that as long as I have other projects - and I ALWAYS have other projects - it's best to give them a little space. While Forge of War has been shifted to the back burner to let it mature, I discovered a whole new story in the Bittergate universe that comes before Murder in Wizard's Wood. That's exciting because elements of that discovery have changed some of the plot in Forge of War. When we finally get the third Bittergate the story is going to be all the richer and well worth the wait.
In the meantime, I've engaged an artist I found to build the Forge of War cover for us. Lucky for us, the endeavor expanded to include all four Bittergate covers (finally replacing my attempts to be a cover artist.) The first of those is ready, giving us Lanea and young Drake on the newest cover version for Murder in Wizard's Wood.
